Commercial Controlling Manager

Background / job purpose

As a Commercial Controlling Manager, you will drive financial policy development, ensure accurate reporting, and lead a dynamic team to deliver top-tier financial performance. This role offers an opportunity to shape financial strategies and operational processes, ensuring the company remains on a trajectory of growth and success. Ideal candidates will bring a strong mix of technical expertise, strategic insight, and team leadership. The role will be based in Gdynia, Poland and will report to the Finance Director.

Job responsibility

  • Conduct continuous analysis and evaluation of the company’s financial performance.
  • Prepare accurate financial forecasts to support strategic decision-making.
  • Create and oversee the execution of the company’s annual budget.
  • Monitor budget adherence and analyze variances to drive improvements.
  • Develop and implement effective financial and accounting procedures.
  • Conduct internal reviews to ensure accuracy and compliance of accounting records.
  • Prepare comprehensive monthly and annual corporate financial reports.
  • Provide detailed reports for periodic and annual audit processes.
  • Supervise the operation and enhancements of the SAP COPA module.
  • Oversee the use and modifications of Power BI to ensure robust data analysis and reporting.

Controlling department leadership:

  • Plan, manage, and supervise the work of the controlling department.
  • Organize and delegate tasks effectively, ensuring clarity in responsibilities and authority.
  • Monitor task performance to maintain high-quality outputs.

Relationship

  • Internal: Executive Leadership team, Commercial, Marketing, Supply Chain, IT, HR, other affiliates from the Group.
  • External: Regulatory offices or Tax Authorities, Auditors, Vendors, Consultants, Banks/Financial Institution.

Professional background / person specification

  • Higher education in Finance.
  • Minimum of 3 years in a finance department with managerial
    responsibilities.
  • Strong understanding of tax and legal regulations.
  • ERP system proficiency
  • Strong command of English (very good level) and the ability to communicate in Polish is essential
  • Preferred Qualifications:
    • Experience in the FMCG sector.
    • Familiarity with SAP systems.
